FAQ: "Green Stuff®" and "Greens and Grains"

Q: What is Green Stuff? What is Greens and Grains?

A: Green Stuff and Greens and Grains are powdered "green drinks" derived from the juices of green organic vegetables which are juiced and then dehydrated at a low (below human body) temperature in order to maintain the integrity of the nutrients.

Q: These two products seem to be similar in their composition. Is there a reason for taking both products, and is there an advantage in taking one over the other?

A: Green Stuff is primarily meant as a way to obtain high levels of chlorophyll and other phytonutrients that one could not ordinarily get through eating vegetables. Greens and Grains has a similar mixture of greens but has the added benefit of FOS, a nutrient that feeds the "friendly" bacteria in the intestines, flax and chia seed, which are excellent sources of essential fatty acids, pumpkin seed -- a good source of zinc, and the juiced sprouts that supply amino acids and other valuable nutrients.

Q: Will people with a gluten intolerance have a problem with Greens and Grains?

A: No. The reason is that the grains in Gary Null's Greens and Grains are not ground up mature grains. The "grains" are actually juiced sprouts that come from four of the world's so- called "supergrains": quinoa, amaranth, kamut, and spelt. In the immature sprouts, the protein known as gluten is virtually non-existent. Typically gluten intolerance occurs with more common grains such as wheat, rye and oats.

Q: What dose in both powder and capsules, is the equivalent of one glass of green vegetable juice?

A: The suggested serving for Green Stuff Powder is 1 1/2 teaspoons per 6 oz. of water while the equivalent in capsules is 3 Vegicaps. This serving size would give you the rough equivalent of an eight oz. glass of green vegetable juice (with one oz. of wheatgrass added). If you wish to have an 8 oz. glass of Gary Null's Green Stuff, 2 teaspoons should be enough, or you can take 4 vegicaps at a time.

Q: How many tablets or how much powder would you use if you drink four glasses of real juice per day?

A: You would need to take 12 vegicaps or four 1 1/2 teaspoon servings of the powder to equal 4 glasses of juice.

Q: Is the green stuff really a replacement for fresh made juice?

A: It can be. The product was created because Gary Null wanted a way for people to benefit from green juices without having to do the work of washing, cutting up and juicing the vegetables themselves. Not everyone wants to invest in a juicer, and many people don't have (or want to make) time for juicing. Others want to still be able to have their juices when they travel. Gary Null's Green Stuff enables many people to have their Green Juices conveniently -- in fact, the slogan for our product is "Gary's Green Stuff is the Home Juicer in a Jar."

Q: How many serving of vegetables will I get with one serving of Green Stuff or Greens and Grains?

A: One serving of either product will give you the nutrient equivalent of approximately 2 servings of salad (about 2 cups of greens) as per the USDA Food Pyramid. This does not mean however, that drinking Green Stuff or Greens and Grains is a substitute for eating vegetables, as these products lack the needed fibrous elements found in plant matter. The main purpose of these products is to provide high levels of chlorophyll and other valuable phytonutrients in a convenient way.

Q: Why the variety of greens in these products? Wouldn't making a barley greens product be enough?

A: Both Greens and Grains as well as Green Stuff combine the best of green foods in order to offer the consumer the finest combination of nutrients and phytochemicals. Each of the greens selected has its own unique properties and, when combined, have a powerful synergistic effect.

Q: How does Greens & Grains and Green Stuff differ from other powdered "green" products on the market?

A: Some green products use sweeteners derived from corn, while others used powdered leaf matter so that they can claim that their product is "green." Gary Null's Green Stuff and Greens and Grains uses the juice from greens -- not ground up leaves or discarded pulp. Try either product -- and feel the difference!
