VITAMIN B3/NIACIN
(1 gram = 1000 milligrams)
2. Doses of nicotinic acid (1.5 grams 3 times/day for 8 weeks) reduced total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol and increased HDL cholesterol in diabetic patients with dyslipidemia. It did, however affect glycemic control and should be used cautiously in non-insulin dependent diabetics.
